Once I said this:
I have never felt God's presence. Never.

nothing to say about the holy devouring,
the desire to take that thing inside of you,
to make His flesh your flesh.
If I may propose a dictum:
you have to feel it to want it destroyed,
or, more kindly, to want it consumed.

I have searched for the divine banquet
in the Hebron Mountains,
and in the oak of Odin,
and I am neither starved nor contented.

Whosoever blesses man with faith,
and a sense of yawning,
eternal light
they did not touch me,
they did not wash me in the living water.
This is not my sin.

(the man and his rabbi stayed up until dawn
it was a ferocious argument
and as the sun was coming up they came to an agreement
that God had been forever proven not to exist.)

(The next day the man saw the rabbi
on his way to prayer.
He asked him: "Did we not determine that there was no God?")

(what, asked the rabbi, does that have to do with anything?)

Interesting, and quite the proper response from the Rabbi.

Oh, spiritual hunger (or lack thereof) -- what a great take on the prompt! I really do love the response of the rabbi.

I loved your really different take on the prompt! Great last comment by the rabbi, too!

Very creative take on the prompt! I love seeing the different ideas that come to people. :) The ending is just perfect and says so much with that simple line. Great work!
